A global food service leader, supporting customers in 90 countries, set a tangible corporate goal for sustainability. Our Renewable Select plan immediately put them halfway towards that goal.

Specifically, the goal created  a 20% commitment to renewable energy target, and we helped provide our customer with renewable energy at grid parity to meet their businesses’ financial requirements while achieving their sustainability metric.

For this customer, and all types of businesses, the Renewable Select plan breaks down and removes barriers that typically impede the procurement of wind and solar energy, such as untenable contract sizes or lengths, difficult building logistics or complex financial transactions.
 

Solar made real

For this customer, Renewable Select offered various load options, and required no need to sign a complicated, lengthy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Instead, our customer signed a simple contract for ten years of 25 MW at a fixed price allowing them to achieve price certainty in an ever-changing marketplace. The NRG team took care of the rest, serving as the liaison and catalyst between the energy facility and the energy plan.

This customer receives dedicated, locally sourced renewable energy with flexible options that best meet its business sustainability and procurement needs. Renewable Select features custom term lengths and the ability to procure up to 100% of a customer’s electricity usage from a renewable resource.
