Supplier Registration

Process and Requirements

Becoming a supplier with NRG

Partner with us to deliver safe, reliable, affordable, and responsible energy solutions.

1. Purpose

At NRG, we value partnerships with suppliers who share our commitment to quality, compliance, sustainability, and service excellence.

Registering as a supplier allows our teams to learn more about your products and capabilities and consider your company for future sourcing opportunities.

Please note: Registration does not guarantee business with NRG, but it ensures your company is visible to our internal sourcing and procurement teams.

2. Who should register

You should complete supplier registration if your company provides:

  • Goods (materials, equipment, components)
  • Professional or consulting services
  • Construction or field services
  • Technology or software solutions
  • Renewable energy products or services
  • Business or operational support services

We encourage participation from small, local, and diverse suppliers.

3. Steps to register as a new supplier

The supplier registration process is designed to be straightforward and efficient.

  1. Submit supplier registration form

Provide basic company, contact, and service information via the Supplier PortaL

Upload required documentation

Documentation requirements vary by supplier type. At a minimum, suppliers are generally required to provide a completed W-9 or W-8, along with either a voided check or a bank letter. Safety and/or security qualifications may also be required, depending on the scope of work.

Complete compliance acknowledgements and process

Confirm acceptance of NRG policies and compliance standards.

Depending on the goods or services you provide, additional information or qualifications may be required:

Will your work require access to an NRG site or plant location?

Certain suppliers must meet safety qualification requirements through NRG’s third-party partner, ISNetworld (ISN).

Visit the Safety Qualifications page to understand what’s required.

Do you work with secure data, systems, or IT-related services?

Suppliers providing technology, cybersecurity, or data-related services may undergo a security review through Whistic.

Learn what to expect on the Security Qualifications page.

Are you a diverse, small, or local supplier?

Learn more about how to self-identify, certification options, and program details on our Supplier Diversity page.

Internal review

NRG reviews submissions for completeness and alignment.

Activation (if applicable)

Approved suppliers may be onboarded into NRG systems when a business need arises.
