PositiveNRG is dedicated to investing in the places where we do business. We focus on
giving back in four main areas:
Grant request guidelines
The positiveNRG program gives preference to organizations and initiatives that have a meaningful and direct impact on the community, and nonprofit organizations and initiatives that are supported in partnership with the community. We encourage investing in initiatives that strengthen community involvement and inclusiveness.
Generally, we do not support sponsorships and club activities unless there is a unique initiative that complies with the positiveNRG policy and guidelines.
In most cases, we will not contribute to religious, political, veteran, and fraternal organizations, except for related programs that directly benefit the community and not the organization. We do not contribute to organizations that support terrorist activities or discriminate.

As the nation watched Hurricane Harvey escalate into a devastating storm, my immediate focus was on a handful of very important things – protecting my family, the safety of NRG employees and our customers and the continuity of our retail electricity business in Texas.

For the past 100 years, the Montville Power Station has been providing power to communities and the people of Connecticut. When Sandi Dodge walked through the doors on August 23rd, 1999, she joined a team of 60 employees to work as the Office Coordinator. To this day, she believes the team’s continued dedication and commitment are key to ensuring the plant operates safely and reliably.
