Welcoming New Facilities to the NRG Family

As we continue to strengthen our position as a leader in the energy sector, I’m very pleased to share that NRG has finalized the acquisition of six natural gas power generation facilities from Rockland Capital. This addition is a significant milestone, bringing 738 MW of modern, flexible natural gas capacity to our portfolio in Texas.

This acquisition not only strengthens our energy generation capabilities but also grows our team. We are proud to welcome 34 dedicated employees from these facilities to the NRG team. Their expertise and commitment will be instrumental as we continue to deliver energy solutions that support growing energy needs of Texas.

The new facilities feature one combined-cycle unit and five peaker units, reinforcing our ability to provide reliable, responsive energy to meet growing demand, especially in Texas. With its mix of advanced, flexible technologies, the portfolio is set to enhance our footprint in the rapidly expanding electricity market driven by population growth, electrification and data center development across the state.

This is just the latest step in our journey to meet the challenges of today’s energy landscape while also creating long-term value for our shareholders and communities. We look forward to the future as we integrate these assets into our portfolio and continue driving innovation and growth across our operations.
