Powering Progress Together: Celebrating our Demand Response Partners

In early 2024, we celebrated five years of our Demand Response Customer Recognition program. This program not only highlights the exceptional efforts of our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers in energy efficiency, but also underscores the significant impact these efforts have had on their communities and the environment.

At its core, demand response (DR) is about optimizing energy consumption to ensure a reliable power supply. By participating in DR programs, our customers play a crucial role in reducing energy usage during peak demand periods. This helps avoid spikes and brownouts and reduces overall emissions. With enough electricity on standby to power 1.6 million homes, the DR program is a testament to our shared commitment to innovative sustainability.

Our participants span industries such as education, healthcare, manufacturing, and more, and have seen firsthand the benefits of joining the DR program. In addition to contributing to a more stable grid, they also achieve significant energy reduction goals that lead to cost savings and enhanced operational efficiency. The program’s real-time tracking and personalized dashboards empower participants with the tools they need to succeed.

This year, we are recognizing 211 customers across three categories:

We honored three customers for going above and beyond in their demand reduction efforts. Their hands-on involvement in efficiency initiatives and the quantifiable impact of their choices set a high bar for sustainability.

With 192 customers recognized in this category, we salute our long-standing participants, some of whom have been enrolled in our DR program for two decades. Their unwavering commitment to demand response exemplifies responsible, future-forward energy management.

We also celebrate our newcomers who hit the ground running, achieving 100% of their reduction goals in their first year of participation. This year we honored 16 customers in this category for showing how impactful this program can be from the start.
