Accessible, simple renewable energy 

The Renewable Select energy plan was developed because we heard you. You told us you wanted to utilize renewable energy to support your overall sustainability goals and needed a clear, easy, and cost-effective path to get there. Renewable Select offers the solution.  

Formerly, if you wanted renewable power, you needed significant capital to allocate towards the project, and the venture was dependent on a complex, negotiated Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). But now, with Renewable Select, securing renewable energy can be flexible and straightforward. It can be integrated into a traditional commodity plan. 

Your dedicated account executive will help you select from three pricing structures based on the one that best meets your needs, budget, and business. Best of all, you may not need to assign considerable capital or make an upfront investment to secure it. 

Reliable and cost-effective generation options

Asset-Backed Demand Response (ABDR), on the other hand, is for customers who want to improve the reliability of their energy source while also getting paid to do so. “AB” involves your on-site natural or diesel gas generator. It gives you your own source of energy to tap into when the grid is experiencing instability due to increased demand or weather volatility. “DR” can add a source of revenue to the solution. Participants are paid for curtailing their energy when the grid faces extreme conditions. 

ABDR can work with your existing installed generators, including non-compliant systems through our Generator Retrofit program, which helps bring back-up assets back online.

Similar to Renewable Select, you may not need upfront capital to get started. If you’re in a market where commodity prices run high, there is often little or no cost to customers looking to take advantage of ABDR. Nor does it take much effort. NRG can own, operate, and maintain the generation equipment that powers your organization.
