Tara received her Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Arts in media studies from Penn State University, and, despite having a long family legacy in the coal industry, never imagined she would have a job in the field of power and gas. But a six-week temporary contract to cover a maternity leave has turned into an almost 20-year career in the energy industry. With Strategic Energy, Direct Energy, and now NRG, Tara has served with Sales Support, Sales Operations and Client Services, and now turns her attention to Broker Sales. She likes the fast-paced nature of the industry and is always finding something new to learn in support of her customers. Tara lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her adorable black cat, Sophie. She loves concerts, sporting events, and cheering for Penn State and the Penguins. She enjoys “Mad Men” and “Downton Abbey,” and can usually be found listening to Depeche Mode, Sleater-Kinney, or Lady Gaga. Her parents, Donald and Beverly, have been her biggest cheerleaders.
