Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff

Bill Evans is Chief of Staff at NRG, working directly with the leadership team to drive operational alignment and enterprise priorities. In this role, he connects strategy to action across the organization, ensuring cross-functional coordination against NRG’s core business objectives.

Prior to his current role, Bill served as Vice President of Business Operations where he led business planning, performance management, and efficiency improvements across the NRG Business organization. Joining the company in 2008, Bill held leadership and advisory roles at NRG, GenOn, and Mirant, supporting commercial, operational and corporate functions, and partnering with senior executives on transformation and growth initiatives.

Before NRG, Bill held a range of positions in Washington, D.C., at the White House and the United States House of Representatives, including Chief of Staff, Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Rules and Technology, Legislative Director, and Press Secretary.

Bill holds an MBA from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree from Colby College. He serves on the Board of Directors of Houston Wilderness, an organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the region’s coastal prairies, forests, wetlands, and waterways.
